Practical email guides
A 10 minute mail alternative: is TmpMails right for your task?
Compare a countdown mailbox with TmpMails for short-term messages and manual testing. Understand the real inbox, browser access and retention limits before choosing.
Choose by your receiving task
If you need a temporary email address with an inbox and no sign-up, TmpMails lets you copy a generated address and read incoming messages in the browser. It can be an alternative for a short, low-risk receiving task or a manual test of your own registration flow. Some senders reject disposable domains regardless of the service you choose.
A countdown and a retention guarantee are different
On 13 October 2026, the official 10 Minute Mail homepage displayed a ten-minute countdown and a control to add ten more minutes. Check the official service for its current behavior.
TmpMails does not show a ten-minute countdown. This does not mean messages last longer or remain available permanently. The current service does not promise a fixed seven-day or permanent mailbox lifetime. A browser cookie is an access association, not a retention guarantee.

Generate an address without creating an account, copy it, then keep the same browser profile while receiving a message. The inbox checks for mail every 10 seconds while visible, and also offers manual refresh.
For a registration test, check the sender, subject, message text and your own verification link. For a message that does not arrive, use the missing-email guide instead of changing addresses mid-test.
When to choose a different kind of mailbox
TmpMails currently has no attachment-download feature, external testing API, custom-address interface or old-address switch-back. If your task needs one of those features, select a service that explicitly supports it and test the actual workflow.
Use a permanent mailbox for ongoing account access, password recovery, banking or important records. Generating a new address or clearing browser site data can prevent access to the previous TmpMails inbox. TmpMails and 10 Minute Mail are separate services.
