Practical email guides
Can you recover an old temporary email address?
Understand how TmpMails remembers your temporary inbox, what happens after changing browsers or generating a new address, and which messages cannot be restored.
Start with the same browser and profile
TmpMails uses a browser cookie to associate your browser with an allocated address. Returning with the same browser profile and retained site data may show that address again while its allocation remains available. This is not an account login or a guaranteed permanent mailbox.
Saving the address alone does not restore access
Knowing or bookmarking the email address is not a recovery credential. A different device, another browser profile, private browsing, or cleared cookies may receive a different inbox. The current interface does not provide an old-address login, cross-device synchronization, or a recovery link.
Generating a new address changes your inbox
Generate New Address switches this browser to a new inbox after confirmation. Do not generate a new address while waiting for a message sent to the previous one. There is currently no user-facing switch-back function.
Cleared messages cannot be restored in the interface
Clear Inbox removes messages from the active inbox. TmpMails currently has no user-facing restore function for cleared messages. This describes interface access, not a guarantee about immediate deletion from backups or operational storage; see the privacy policy for data handling.
Do not rely on a fixed seven-day recovery window
A browser cookie does not guarantee how long a mailbox or its messages remain available. Do not rely on a seven-day or permanent retention promise. Save information you need before leaving, and use a permanent address for account recovery and long-term access.
